A DevOps Engineer turned digital nomad
Who is Jeff K.?
I'm an expert in infrastructure engineering. Currently, I am at Caylent as a Cloud Architect, working remotely as I travel the world, though my home base is the western United States. Before this role, I worked at Rackspace, Rcktshp, X-Team, Upside Business Travel, Red Ventures, Onica, and QuadraNet. I hold a BA in Sociology from San Francisco State University and have done PG studies in Global Justice at The University of Sheffield.
I consider myself a computer enthusiast, a human/social rights activist, a dog lover and carer, an observer of cities, an audience member of standup comedy and poetry slam, and a seasoned traveler. I have been working with computers since childhood and have developed extensive skills in all things digital. When away from the desk, I enjoy e-skating around town, trying out new restaurants, doing landscape photography, and traveling abroad. So far, I have been to 38 countries and am not stopping any time soon. My current goal is to experience 60 countries across 5 continents by age 40.
I am a proud political-economic progressive interested in human rights and am inspired by the topics of: anti-repression, anti-racism, anti-war, feminism, socialism, drug policy reform, and immigration reform. On the streets, I have livestreamed various protests & rallies from various locations, such as: Oakland, Occupy Wall Street, and London.

Happy colleagues say...
Don’t sleep on this man, he’s by far one of the most brilliant minds of our time, with more compassion and understanding for humanity than most, which only adds to his incredible work ethic and problem solving strategies while collaborating with clients or teammates. There are no cloudy days, when Jeff is behind the wheel.
Jeff has been one of the most stable and diligent employees I have ever had the pleasure of managing, as well as being a highly intelligent and effective systems administrator. In addition to directly tackling problems with his existing knowledge, he has also performed research of his own volition and come up with lasting solutions for complex problems. Jeff's dedication to the workplace is on par with his passion for everything he does in his life, and I can recommend his work wholeheartedly without a moment's hesitation.
Working with Jeff was by far one of my favorite experiences that I will always remember. While doing his job he was still able to teach me Linux and Windows and not to mention assist me on any problems that arose. He is a real team player and I would recommend Jeff. His hard work definitely shows for itself.
